- Can we keep the existing tiles?
- Sometimes. Clay pantiles and natural slate often survive a strip and can be re-laid with new ones making up breakages. Concrete tiles past their life usually aren't worth salvaging.
- What happens if you find rotten timbers?
- We stop, photograph it and price the repair before covering it up. It's the one part of a re-roof that can't be fully quoted in advance, so we tell you the rate for it up front.
- How disruptive is a re-roof?
- Noisy for a few days and dusty in the loft, but you can stay in the house. Roofs are left weathertight overnight and we work around agreed hours.
- Do we need permission from Fenland District Council?
- Most like-for-like roof work doesn't need consent, but listed buildings and conservation areas can. If your property looks like it falls into that, we'll say so at inspection so it's dealt with before work starts.
