Holiday chalets often have lightweight roofs, sometimes felt on timber decking, sometimes sheeting. Owners want them watertight before the letting season, and a failed felt roof can often be replaced with EPDM or GRP in a short visit.

Flat roofed annexes built beside bungalows are a common source of leaks at the point where the annexe meets the main house. The upstand and flashing at that junction do the most work, and we pay close attention to them.

Bungalow main roofs are generally concrete tiled. Problems we see include lifted ridge tiles after gales and moss build up on the side away from the sun. We repair these and advise when a full reroof would make more sense.
